Interview with Daniel Radcliffe

Q: Did you go straight to the epilogue when the new Harry Potter book came out?
Daniel: I did indeed. No, I didn’t go straight to the epilogue, that’s what my grandmother does.

Q: What did you think of the final Harry Potter book?
Daniel: In terms of the ending of the book, I was thrilled. Has anybody not read the seventh book – okay, cool, I was very, very pleased because I basically get the best of both worlds, because I get the scene of my demise and also I get to live on after that, which is any actors’ dream, you get to die and then you get more screen time, it’s fantastic.

Q: Are you filming now?
Daniel: I start ‘6’ in 10 days.

Q: Any special preparations, special iTunes list?
Daniel: Not yet, but I’m sure I will before we start filming.

Q: Can you talk about where you were reading the book and what you were experiencing as you were reading it?
Daniel: Totally. There’s a quote, I’m not going to take this interview down too pretentious a route though this next bit but there’s a quote from Chekhov when he wrote to the woman who was the final love of his life, who he later married and I think died with, not that she died but he was with her when he died, and he addresses a letter to her and he says, ‘Hello, the last page of my life.’ Which seemed very appropriate to me reading this book, because he has been such a part of my life now, I’ve been with him through all my teen years, and you were suddenly aware that – I started reading it, it was wow, this is the last time I will take a journey with this character, and it was quite a special moment, and actually while reading the final chapters I was listening to Sigur Ros which was very, very appropriate actually, it really, really was, God I’d love them to do a song for one of the films, they’d be absolutely fantastic.

Q: Were you thinking about it as you were reading it, oh my God this book is amazing, and it’s going to be such a good movie?
Daniel: I was thinking, how are we going to make it into a movie? It’s going to be tough, but that’s why someone cleverer than me adapts them. I think if we get it right, which I’m confident we will, it should be amazing.

Q: Have you read the script for Half-Blood Prince yet?
Daniel: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Q: Have they adapted that book well, they have to cut them down so much.
Daniel: They have to. Obviously things have taken out, but everything that drives the story forward is very much in place.

Q: And you’re doing a play right after you finish Half-Blood Prince?
Daniel: There’s a little gap and hopefully if I can find another film to make than that would be really cool, but if not, yeah I might actually rest.

Q: A lot of people read the book in one or two days, did you feel you needed to read it quickly so someone didn’t spoil it for you
Daniel: Weirdly I didn’t. I was at a cricket match when it came out, so I didn’t really start reading it properly. I read the first 30 pages one night, and then said, ‘Right, I’m not going to pick it up again until I’ve got proper time to really have a go at this book.’ And actually no one spoiled the ending for me, I thought they would. I thought someone was going to shout it out what happened. But the brilliant thing about it actually – she sort of made it spoiler proof, because even though if someone does say what state Harry ends up in, you don’t know the half of it which is pretty impressive. When I finally did get to read it I did read it in about a day and a half just because I didn’t put it down.

Q: A lot of people thought Alfonso Cuaron did such an amazing job of the third movie and he’s talked about he’d be willing to come back to the franchise, would you like to have him back for book seven.
Daniel: It’s a very interesting question. I loved working with Alfonso, so I don’t want this to be misinterpreted in the slightest, but I really love working with David Yates. Who knows if he’ll do book seven. But also I think to be honest it’s really nice to have new directors come on board. Who know, it’s a long way off, book seven, it depends if David is willing to do it, I don’t know if he will be, it’s a long way off so I don’t know at the moment. But I would love to work with him (Alfonso) again in the future, I don’t know if Potter will be the place where that happens.

Q: You’re okay with Yates coming back for book seven:
Daniel:If he wanted to, yeah totally.

Q: Did you have a good 18th birthday party?
Daniel: I had fabulous 18th birthday party, thank you very much.

Q: We didn’t hear anything about it.
Daniel: Good.

Q: Do you have any great summer memories?
Daniel: This summer was pretty good, because I got to go to Lords for my birthday.

WHO KNEW NEVILLE WAS EVIL!

I SAW THIS ON THE MUGGLENET CAPTION CONTEST AND JUST THOUGHT IT WAS WAY TO CUTE TO IGNORE.

They would pay, they would all pay! But for now, Neville merely smiled and returned to his plots of world domination, ignoring the laughter from the couple behind.
Neville: Mr. Plant, where should we strike first? ...Rome? Excellent plan, Mr. Plant. *Scribbles something down*
Everyone Else: o.O...
Luna: That's crazy, even for me...

Order of the Phoenix DVD information
Various details concerning the upcoming Order of the Phoenix DVD release are slowly starting to emerge. The Movie Informer
has received what looks to be the front and back cover the 2-disc Special Edition DVD. Check it out right here! The back lists several bonus features, including:- Additional Scenes- Conversations with the Cast- Reflections on the Fifth Film- The Noble House of Black- A New Order- Ministry Mysteries- Flight of the Phoenix- Theatrical Trailers- EA Game DemoWhile this picture of the front and back cover do look pretty promising, this is still not confirmed by Warner Brothers. We're working on confirming all of the aforementioned details.Last month at the US premiere of the film, Emerson and I asked director David Yates how many deleted scenes we could expect on DVD. His answer falls in line with an update at the British Board of Film Classification's website, which lists 10 minutes worth of deleted and extended scenes to be included on the DVD. Thanks to Leaky for this.As for a release date, rumors are currently circulating that we can expect to see it in mid-November (many sites report November 12th in the UK). We'll be sure to update you as soon as we hear more!

Harry Potter to be turned into musical?
Monday, August 27 2007, 15:49 BST
By Kimberley Dadds

Theatre producers are searching for an actor to take on the role of Harry Potter in a West End musical.A script has been in the works to turn J.K. Rowling's hit books into a stage version with singing and dancing.A theatre insider said: "The musical has the potential to be huge. You are already off to a head start with the most popular book of recent times. Everyone loves the characters and the mythical world Rowling has invented."The difficulty is condensing the seven books into a manageable show. They are exploring various ideas. One possibility is to tell the whole story. Another is to just take a single plot."The plan is for spectacular flying scenes, live Quidditch and big showdowns with Voldemort."

An article published in an Orlando newspaper is reporting that Warner Brothers and Universal Studios have reached a deal to have a targeted realease date of between December 15th, 2009 and June 30, 2010. If this be true that means that we could have just over 2 years until our ultimate Harry Potter fantasy comes true (well for me it is my 2nd since my 1st is being Mrs. Neville Longbottom but i am getting off subject). We had better get our tickets and our time off as soon as possible proffessor T.

Interviews with Ginny, Luna & Neville

Inserts from: Home page
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix: Interviews with Bonnie Wright, Evanna Lynch and Matthew Lewis
Sixteen-year-old BONNIE WRIGHT plays Ron's younger sister, Ginny Weasley.
As well as all of the Harry Potter films, Bonnie has starred in two television productions; Agatha Christie; a Life in Pictures in which she played the young Agatha Christie and as Sarah Robinson in Stranded.
Bonnie also plays the guitar, saxophone, takes ballet and contemporary dance and sings. She loves art, English, listening to music, watching films, surfing, cycling and playing football, hockey and tennis.
Q: What has it been like to step more into the limelight as Ginny has become more prominent?
In the first few books, she was the little sister of the Weasley family, but in the later books, she comes through more on her own.
It's been more fun doing this film as Ginny's character's developed. The six of us go through to the Ministry of Magic and it was really interesting to be a part of. Ginny's a bit more confident - I have definitely enjoyed that.
I started when I was nine and I'm sixteen now. It's nine months at a time from the beginning of shooting to when it comes out and I think I enjoy it better now because we've grown up together and when we're filming it's a really relaxed atmosphere. We're going to start the sixth film at the beginning of September.
When we all come back into the next film it's like coming back from the summer term, we're all kind of like, oh, you've grown. We all keep in contact when we're not filming. Different people live in different parts of England but we let each other know what we're up to at school and things.

Q: What's good about being a Weasley?
A: We have a Christmas scene in Grimauld place and it's quite a dark atmosphere but our family brings a bit of life into it, some colour. I think the humour in the Weasley family brings things more alive.
Julie Walters, who plays Mrs Weasley is really kind of open and friendly towards all of us - she likes to have that family ring around us all. She's bubbly on set.

SHY and softly spoken 14 year-old EVANNA LYNCH plays Luna Lovegood, the free spirited, but fiercely loyal friend to Harry and determined member of Dumbledore's Army.
Evanna flew from her home near Dublin and travelled to London to come face to face with 15,000 other young hopefuls at an open audition.
But casting director Fiona Weir knew as soon as she saw her that "there was only one Luna". And just a few short weeks later, Evanna joined the production in the role.
When not filming, Evanna enjoys spending time at home, particularly with her family pets, which include a cat called Luna and a kitten named Dumbledore.
Q: What was it like to be a fan and then be on the set?
A: It was this feeling the whole time like I shouldn't be here among all these stars, these professionals. I was trying to keep my distance because I wanted to watch everyone. They want you to be at home and be part of it, and it became normal very quickly. I know I had been prepared, thinking, it's going to be like this, but that was more of a fantasy.
I was a bundle of nerves. I didn't expect that because during the screen test, I was fine, I was ready. I thought I'd be holding everyone up because I didn't know the ropes, but you do a few takes and got used to it.
Q: What was it about Luna that made you think, that's the part for me'.
A: It was just because she was happy, she's got everything sorted out, she's kind of like Dumbledore - she doesn't need anyone. She's happy being free. I wish I was as free as that.
Watching the movies, I always thought it would be so cool to be in Harry Potter and to make that your job, but before Order of the Phoenix, I didn't know who I'd be so I thought I'll just watch.
Then 2003, 21st of June, that was her - I wanted to go for Luna. I'm not one to sit around and wait for fate to do things so I got my friends and made a tape. They played Harry and Ron - they were very good about it, very patient - and I sent that away. That never came of anything because they can't deal with individual applications because they get so many but I did get a letter the same day I went on Mugglenet and there was a post saying open auditions for Luna Lovegood.
Q: J K Rowling knows you from your fan letters and has apparently said that she thinks you'll be great in the part - that must be a thrill?
A: If she's happy with you playing one of her characters, that's an honour. She still hasn't seen it, she'd just going from meeting me so I'm really scared. I'm always picturing the moment after she's seen it and I've had nightmares where she just walks away. I don't want to know what the Potter fans think of me - there's always going to be someone who won't like it - and that'll just upset me. If I'm happy with it, it just matters if I've done my little vision of Luna.

LEEDS native 16 year-old MATTHEW LEWIS reprises his role as Neville Longbottom in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
Matthew has been acting since he was just five years old after joining a performing arts club. He won the role of Neville after an open casting call was held in his hometown.
Matthew has previously featured in a number of television series' including; Heartbeat, City Central, Where the Heart Is, Sharpe, Emmerdale, Dalziel & Pascoe and Some Kind Of Life...
Q: Having just spoken to Evanna, I have to ask you first about the wand incident with Helena.
A: We were doing a scene in the Ministry of Magic where she's holding the character of Neville hostage and Helena plays the character really well, being sadistic and twisted about it. She was moving the wand about on my head, just teasing me and I'm pulling away in fear. She put it straight into my ear and the doctor had to have a look at it and I was deaf for two days in that ear which was pretty weird. She was very apologetic and I can hear fine now!
It was fun - I have always enjoyed playing Neville because he's been that comic relief in the film, and I love making people laugh. This year I got to do that and also a lot of emotion and drama when he talks to Harry about his parents. To not only be working harder and be in more scenes, but also the diverse nature of the work was a lot of fun. I hope it carries on up to the seventh film.
Q: Given that you're obviously quite a dude (Matthew looks very different from Neville in the flesh, much more trendy) is it fun to play a character who's very different to you in real life?
A: It's kind of strange because I was never really bullied at school. I was pretty confident and I've never shyed away from much but a lot of people have come up to me and said that they were bullied at school and him playing Neville has influenced them a lot in their lives and helped them out. So that's given me great inspiration to carry on doing the job right.
I don't want to just say I'm a natural (he laughs self-deprecatingly), but the books are so well written that you don't have to do much research. You can just read how Rowling wrote it down and perform it that way.
It's surprising how many fans say he's their favourite character. It's really cool to think that you're playing these people's favourite character who they have ingrained in their head from the book. For them to say you're doing it right, is superb.
I'm pretty lucky in that I don't look anything like Neville, at least, I don't think I do. Around Leeds, people recognise me. But I can still go shopping. I kind of get the best of both worlds.

Q: Do you think Neville's going to die?
A: A lot of people have come up to me and said, you're going to die mate'. Cheers! But I like to think he'll be there fighting to the end. If he does die, I'd like it to be really heroic, saving someone else's life.

JK Said The Future was Bright

Rowling said the world was a sunnier, happier place after the seventh book and the death of Voldemort.
Harry Potter, who always voiced a desire to become an Auror, or someone who fights dark wizards, was named head of the Auror Department under the new wizarding government headed by his friend and ally, Kingsley Shacklebolt.
_______________________________________________
His wife, Ginny Weasley, stuck with her athletic career, playing for the Holyhead Harpies, the all-female Quidditch team. Eventually, Ginny left the team to raise their three children - James, Albus and Lily - while writing as the senior Quidditch correspondent for the wizarding newspaper, the Daily Prophet.
_______________________________________________
Harry's best friend Ron Weasley joined his brother, George, as a partner at their successful joke shop, Weasley's Wizard Wheezes.
_______________________________________________
Hermione Granger, Ron's wife and the third person of the series' dark wizard fighting trio, furthered the rights of subjugated creatures, such as house elves, in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures before joining the magical law enforcement squad. The couple had two children - Rose and Hugo.
_______________________________________________
Luna Lovegood, Harry's airily distracted friend with a love for imaginary animals who joins the fight against Voldemort in the Order of the Phoenix, becomes a famous wizarding naturalist who eventually marries the grandson of Newt Scamander, author of "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them."
_______________________________________________
And what Muggle, or non-wizard, song would have been played at the funeral of Albus Dumbledore, the most brilliant and talented wizard the world had ever known?
"Surely 'I Did It My Way' by Frank Sinatra," Rowling told her fans, referring to the song "My Way," written by Paul Anka but popularized by Sinatra, among other singers.
As the chat wrapped up, Rowling thanked readers for their loyalty to the series.
"What can I say? Thank you so much for sticking with me, and with Harry, for so long. You have made this an incredible journey for Harry's author."

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE BOY WHO LIVED AND HIS CREATOR

JULY 31ST, TODAY IS HARRY POTTER AND JO ROWLINGS BIRTHDAY. HARRY IS TURNING 27 TODAY AND JO IS TURNING 42.

J.K. answers fans questions on a webchat

J.K. did a live webchat that is really huge and long so i just picked out a few of my favorites. Enjoy to view the whole chat (or at least most of it) go to mugglenet.com
Fomy: What did you feel when you finally wrote the kiss, awaited so much by the fans, of ron and hermione
J.K. Rowling: I loved writing it, and I loved the fact that Hermione took the initiative!J.K. Rowling: Ron had finally got SPEW and earned himself a snog!

Vio91: Is teddy lupin a werewolf
J.K. Rowling: No, he's a Metamorphmagus like his mother.

Alborz: What does it mean to be the master of death
J.K. Rowling: As Dumbledore explains, the real master of Death accepts that he must die, and that there are much worse things in the world of the living.
J.K. Rowling: It is not about striving for immortality, but about accepting mortality.

Karin: What did petunia wanted to say to hary at the end of the dursleys departing
J.K. Rowling: I think that for one moment she trembled on the verge of wishing Harry luck; that she almost acknowledged that her loathing of his world, and of him, was born out of jealousy.
J.K. Rowling: But she couldn't do it; years of pretending that 'normal' was best had hardened her too much.

Chely: James patronus is a stag and lilys a doe is that a coincidence?
J.K. Rowling: No, the Patronus often mutates to take the image of the love of one's life (because they so often become the 'happy thought' that generates a Patronus).
Director of the 3rd Harry Potter movie had an interview recently with the website Rotten Tomatoes, in the interview he said:
I feel a little bit like I have to try to do the films that are not going to exist without me. On the same token, I would be really tempted because it was really beautiful. I just started reading the last book and something I respect is the care the producers have put in the film franchise. It would have been so easy after the success of the series just to take the cynical approach of knowing that no matter what people are going to see those movies. Actually they've been taking a lot of care from beginning to end, so yeah I would be really tempted.
All that this blogger can say to that is: PLEASE NO!!!!!! HE MESSED UP POA AND DEATHLY HALLOWS WOULD BE A TRUE TRAGEDY IF HE WAS TO DIRECT IT. GET BACK CHRIS COLUMBUS OR ONE OF THE OTHER DIRECTORS FROM THE FIRST MOVIES. ALSO CAN ANYONE SAY CONCEDED MUCH? to read the full interview follow the link http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/harry_potter_and_the_prisoner_of_azkaban/news/1656252/

Harry Potters Effect On This Reader

I was sitting in church today when this girl came up to me and said that she had noticed my snape is good button on my purse, we traded ideas and we were both wondering J.K.'s reasons behind rushing certain parts of the book while killing us with exausting detail with others. Harry Potter has and i know that this is totally cliche but it has made people talk to each other, people who would normally have absolutely nothing in common are now bonding and becoming friends over harry potter. Harry Potter has made all of us cry more times than we can count but i also always find myself laughing (ear ear) we were transported into a magical world that kept our interests peiked from start to finish, never have i heard a person who has actually read the books say that they couldn't read them because they weren't interesting. I have grown up as many have on Harry Potter. I along with milions of others wondered if; harry and ginny would ever get together, ron and hermione would ever wake up, whether snape was a good guy or a very bad man. I cant imagine my life without harry potter and i wouldnt want to. Next year there will be another hit book and people will eventually start to forget about the boy who lived and his many adventures, copies of books tattered or at least a little worse off because of constant reading for 10 years will begin to gather dust on our shelves, but i think that the books will be like harry himself. they will be looked at in 20 years and still loved and respected. who knows whether harry will stand the test of time with the rest of the world but as for me i intend to make them my childrens books, to always have them on the shelves, hopefully generations to come will read these books and be fasinated by them but if not i am glad that i was lucky enought to be part of the "Harry Potter generation!"

Love it

I like blogging who knew?!

WHO DIDN'T KNOW HOW IT WAS GOING TO END

In the end who was really suprised? The ending that has been hoped for prayed for and longed for for over 10 years ever since J.k. published that first bit of magic that got the world and a whole generation to pick up books and say "who says reading is stupid?" has finally come to pass. All of the good ended happily all of the bad unhappily as it should be. J.K. kept us guessing and I must admit that there were times when she was so vaque about harry's future that i doubted myself whether our leading man (i dont say hero because thats our Neville!) would survive or not. In the end however i kept faith because to lose faith would be to send the message that being good was great and all but in the long run, basically your life will totally suck for 17 years you will have only very small moments of happiness and then you die. ya that would have been a bad message i think. Completely shocked about Harry being a horocrux though. i had listened with complete faith in on the mugglecast discussions where they assured me that for Harry to be a horocrux was just silly. Alas like i said all ended happy who were meant to end happily. perfect fairy tale ending! its not like the grimm fairy tales were all happy with no dath or sorrow, and look at what they have become they are now read round the world as bedtime stories.

The Order of the Phoenix

I thought this was kind of cute. I wonder if we could find a copy of the one from the movie though.

KNEW he was GOOD!!!

I Knew Snape was GOOD!! I think how he died was pretty lame though. He is this powerful, very smart and intellegent Wizard and Voldermort just sneak up on him and kills him. Snape has been watching his backside for all of those years only to have Voldermort get the drop on him. I really cannot see that happening. I knew he would died, but in a way that was just I don't know......I thought it would be more of a battle to take him out or he would died protecting someone... I was very disappointed....

Neville with That Sword

It was like a knight in shining armor the way he grabbed up that sword and swung it around and slice Nagini's head off. All I will say is if they cut any of he parts in book 7 out when they do the movie I think I will write me very first piece of hate mail.

Who do you think was the most powerful witch/wizard?

Who is your favorite couple?
